Is there anything too small?

Last week as I finished mowing my yard I hit one of my landscaping rocks with the blade of my mower and it stopped my mower. Since I was finished I wasn't concerned, but before I put it away I thought I would make sure it would still start...uh oh...it wouldn't. So I put it away and decided I'd have someone look at it later. Well, I forgot all about it. This morning, I heard a lawn mower in my yard and looked out to see my neighbor's daughter mowing my lawn...my first thought was 'that's so nice of her but she didn't need to do that' and then my thought was interrupted as I remembered my own mower wouldn't start! I love the way God is always looking out for me. He knew her help would be a blessing to me and so he put it in her heart to do that!
When God intervenes in my life in these very practical ways I am always so touched and it increases my confidence in Him ... knowing that if He cares about my grass getting cut, He will surely be with me and help me with the bigger challenges in my life.
I want to encourage you today, God is no respecter of persons. What He has done for me He will do for you. He loves you and wants to be an active part of every area of your life. You can trust Him to be there for you in both the big and the small things!

  1. that's the truth!! i was reminded yesterday of this myself:
the night before i had watched a story on the news questioning humanitarian aid to countries whose governments seem to do nothing to relieve the suffering of their people, but instead rely soley on the US to address those needs. i wrestled with what i had heard and was tempted with disillusionment until...
i sat down to clear my desk a bit. there was a World Vision magazine that had come in the mail while we were on vacation that i hadn't read yet. as i opened it and began to read, these words popped right off the page into my heart. "Hungry children know no politcs. Nor should they."
(all the "fogginess" in my mind cleared away) the politics are for someone else to deal with...in the meantime, there are hungry children who need food and clean water to survive. GOD CARES ABOUT THEM!!...and he cares about me!!
